Taking centre stage in this stunning Passivhaus in the Somerset countryside, Young & Norgate worked with CaSA Architects in Bath and MAKE as main contractor to fully design, fabricate and install this Oak curved staircase.

Care and attention was taken to run the veneer grain continuously around the outside and inside faces. A hidden door within the panel work leads to M&E room with additional storage housed underneath the stair. 10mm shadow gaps add to the precise execution of the joinery. The handrail is made up of multiple laminations of solid Oak and hand shaped to achieve the compound nature of the curve. All risers and treads machined from solid Oak and finished on natural clear OSMO oil.
